GETTING A BRAZILIAN WAX
The women of Brazil are credited with coming up with this type of hair removal around the bikini area. As Bikini’s became smaller and smaller on beaches like Copacabana and Ipanema women started to remove more and more pubic hair until it was all gone. Today the Brazilian Wax has many names like Hollywood Brazilian and Playboy Brazilian. A Brazilian wax removes all pubic hair including the anus. There are many modified Brazilians and each person can choose their own preference. A Brazilian wax is a hair removal procedure that uses soft wax, hard wax or sugaring paste.
To have the best experience possible we recommend you look for a Brazilian wax salon who specializes to the service. Read online reviews and take you time in choosing the right esthetician. Avoid locations that are not known for their waxing because many times it is not their specialty and it will show in their technique and quality of work. If a location has many reviews it is best to pay them a visit. Just remember just because a spa has many good reviews does not mean that all the estheticians there are good. Ask for specific people when making your appointment.
Preparing your skin for a Brazilian wax is key for the process to go smoothly. Coming in for your Brazilian ready to go and know what to expect is to getting out the waxing salon happy and satisfied. Many women will have some form of irritation after waxing, but with the proper care the problems should not last more than 2 days. Be comfortable and relaxed during the process and realize you will be exposed at one point or another so be ready for that too! If you don't handle pain very well, we do recommend you visit a well-known spa that are specialist in sugaring hair removal.
We recommend getting your Brazilian waxing every 5 weeks for optimal results. If you go any longer we just say leave the razors alone. As you do more and more your hair will begin to thin out and become less painful. Again avoid those razors!

- It is recommended to not be on your period the day of your Brazilian, but speak with your esthetician before if you simply can’t avoid it.
- Exfoliate, exfoliate, and exfoliate. Did I say exfoliate?
- Be cleaning for your esthetician
- Avoid using anything around your pubic area like lotions or oils that could help irritate your skin after waxing
- Hair should be at least grown out for 3 weeks. Anything shorter can be done, but will cause more pain and provide more work for your esthetician too.
- You can take some form of pain medication if you want.
- Avoid sun tanning, the beach, or swimming pool. This could lead to infection due to the opening left after getting your hair removed. AVOID IT!
- Leave your skin alone. Don’t touch it or let anyone else touch it!
- No sex. We know it’s hard to avoid so please be strong!
- Avoid tight pants
